Abstract
The collection entitled “Studies in Grammar and Discourse in the Languages of the Americas” comprises four articles focused on different languages, Mapudungun (isolate), Aché (Tupi-Guaraní), Ayoreo (Zamuco), and Yaqui (Yuto-Aztecan). This introduction starts by reviewing the current state of the art on the subject, providing extensive illustration of research and advances on languages of the Americas. The aim is to contextualize the featured works and their significance in the ongoing research landscape. We conclude by sketching a brief overview of the contributions in this volume.
