Resumen

En este trabajo abordamos la incidencia del aspecto gramatical en la determinación de escalas de comparación en construcciones comparativas verbales del español. Tomando como punto de partida estudios previos sobre la semántica de estas construcciones, nos enfocamos en comparativas verbales no canónicas con eventos atélicos expresadas en pasado para el perfectivo y el imperfectivo, como en Juan corrió/corría más que María. A partir de observaciones hechas sobre lenguas como el inglés, la literatura reciente sostiene que la escala de comparación está restringida a ciertas dimensiones por la noción de monotonía. Sin embargo, en la interpretación de las construcciones del español aquí estudiadas parecen habilitarse diversas escalas de comparación, incluso algunas que escapan a dicha restricción. Por medio de un estudio de relevamiento de juicios de hablantes nativos, se confirmó que la alternancia perfectivo/imperfectivo incide en la disponibilidad de las escalas de comparación e incluso da lugar, en algunos casos, a escalas no predichas o no necesariamente monótonas.
